To be fair
Recent data provided by the Bureau of Justice Statistics shows a marked drop in the number of people killed by “intimates.” However, the number of men killed has seen a sharp decrease while the number of women killed has been a very gradual one.
So while the earlier chart, focusing on sentencing and homicide “reasoning” is probably off, we obviously have a long way to go in protecting our sisters, daughters, and female family and friends from the people they love.
Kind of fucked up, no?
